The Meyer Sound SB-1 is a Parabolic Sound Beam loudspeaker system designed to deliver clear, high-SPL audio to precise audience locations at distances greater than 300 ft. It propagates sound waves that decrease as little as 3 dB SPL per doubling of distance across a five-octave frequency range, maintaining a consistent narrow beam width that minimises reverberation and interactions with neighbouring units. The integrated two-channel MP-2 amplifier delivers 1,240 W total (620 W per channel) and incorporates TruPower Limiting (TPL), which measures both current and voltage to compute instantaneous power dissipation for accurate speaker protection. The Intelligent AC power supply auto-selects operating voltage for international use, suppresses high-voltage transients, provides soft-start power-up and sustains operation during low-voltage periods. The SB-1 is also compatible with the Meyer Sound Remote Monitoring System (RMS). Its narrow coverage angle and high output make it well suited to large-capacity venues where delay towers would otherwise be required.
