Used Vari-Lite VL500 Wash and VL500 80V Wash luminaires are professional automated wash fixtures featuring the patented DICHROTUNE radial colour mixing system and an integral dimmer for smooth intensity control. The 80V variant employs a bright 80V tungsten lamp for applications demanding greater intensity. The Vari-Lite VL500 Wash is an automated wash luminaire built around the patented DICHROTUNE radial colour mixing system, which uses three sets of 16 radially mounted dichroic blades in magenta, blue, and amber to produce smooth, full-spectrum colour cross-fades. A pastel colour option delivers a softer palette suited to live theatre. The integral dimmer provides dynamic intensity control and timed fades, while 16 radially mounted diffuser planes govern beam spread. Six interchangeable lens options are available, including clear, stipple, 8-row, 10-row, 12-row, and Buxom. The VL500 80V variant uses a bright 80V tungsten lamp where higher intensity is required. Cooling is handled through natural convection for the lamp, with three low-velocity, low-noise micro-fans managing the electronics and power supply internally.
