About the ETC Selador Desire series
The ETC Selador Desire series encompasses a range of high-intensity LED fixtures built for demanding professional environments. The D60 PAR-shaped washlight houses 60 Luxeon Rebel LED emitters and uses the x7 Color System to blend up to seven LED hues, producing broad spectrum colour that interacts seamlessly with conventional sources. An exclusive red-shift option emulates tungsten dimming, while a 15-bit virtual dimming engine delivers smooth theatrical fades with minimal colour shift. DMX512 input and thru via 5-pin XLR, RDM functionality, and a Master/Slave console-free mode offer flexible control. Up to nine fixtures can be linked via power in and thru connectors. The rugged die-cast all-metal housing is IP20 rated for indoor use, UL 1573-listed for stage and studio, and supports continuous operation up to 40°C with active electronic thermal management and low-noise fan cooling. LED life is rated at 50,000 hours to 70% intensity. The Desire Studio sub-range focuses on white LED output with considered colour temperature and skin-tone rendering for television, film, architecture and houses of worship installations.

Additional control options include RGB and strobe modes. Up to nine Desire fixtures (with a 15A maximum load) can be linked via the power in and thru connectors. The fixtures require power from a non-dim source. Each unit is rated for continuous operation up to 40°C ambient temperature and relies on active electronic thermal management alongside low-noise fan cooling to maintain stable output.
Who makes the Selador Desire series and where does it fit in the ETC portfolio?
The Selador Desire series is made by Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC), an American lighting manufacturer known for control consoles, dimming systems, fixtures and rigging across theatre, studio, architectural and live-event applications. Within the ETC fixture range, the Desire series addresses both full-colour LED washing, via the D60, and white LED studio and architectural lighting through the Desire Studio sub-range.
What should I check when buying a used ETC Selador Desire fixture?
Check which specific model is being sold (D60 washlight or a Desire Studio variant), confirm the LED emitter condition and fan operation, and ask whether secondary lenses or accessories are included, as the housing has easy-access slots for these. Verify the DMX and power connectors are undamaged. Used Desire listings on this page are sold second-hand; each listing carries a 21-day warranty covering major functional faults, and the buying guide at 10kused.com/used-av-equipment-guide/ covers the full process.
