Used Robe BMFL Wash / Wash XF

The Robe BMFL Wash / Wash XF is a fresnel-based wash moving head using an Osram Lok-it! HTI 1700/PS compact short-arc metal halide discharge lamp rated at 1,700 W. It produces 38,000 lumens, has a CRI of 92+ and a native colour temperature of 6,000 K. Output is delivered through a 200 mm diameter front fresnel lens with an electronic ballast handling automatic and remote lamp switching.

The BMFL Wash / Wash XF covers a zoom range of 4.5° to 55°, a 12:1 ratio, using Robe's proprietary high-efficiency optical system. At 1,700 W the fixture measures 125,000 lux at 5 metres and 1,250 lux at 50 metres. Output can be reduced to 32,680 lumens at 1,500 W or 27,630 lumens in Quiet mode at 1,200 W, which also lowers lamp and fan noise.

The fixture offers full CMY mixing with cyan, magenta and yellow each running 0 to 100 percent, plus a variable CTO covering 2,700 K to 6,000 K. Two colour wheels add further options: the first carries six fixed dichroic colours including deep red, deep blue, orange, green, magenta and congo blue; the second holds six replaceable SLOT&LOCK dichroic colours such as pink, lavender, laser green and a 9000 K CTB filter.

Built-in effects include patent-pending internal barndoors with four individually controlled blades and plus-or-minus 90° module rotation, interchangeable frost filters in light, medium and heavy densities, a graduated scrim module with plus-or-minus 180° rotation, and a separate dual-blade shutter system capable of variable strobe up to 10 Hz and full blackout. A Beam Shaper module is also part of the effects complement.

The BMFL Wash / Wash XF is made by Robe Lighting, a Czech manufacturer of moving lights and entertainment fixtures that produces moving heads, LED fixtures and followspots for concerts, theatre, television and events. The BMFL Wash / Wash XF represents the high-output end of Robe's wash moving head line, centred on a 1,700 W discharge source and a 200 mm fresnel front lens.
