The Alesis HD24 24-Track 48kHz Hard Disk Recorder is a 24-track hard disk recorder designed to mirror the workflow of tape-based analogue recording. It features 24 TRS balanced inputs and outputs with 24-bit converters supporting 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates. Three sets of ADAT litepipe inputs and outputs are included, alongside word-clock input, punch-switch input, 9-pin in/out and a mini-remote input. The unit supports 88.2/96 kHz operation, at which point it operates as a 12-track recorder. Up to five HD24 units can be stacked together, and the recorder achieves sample-accurate sync with ADAT devices, including compatibility with the BRC. Storage uses IDE hard drives, making media costs low per track minute.
