James Bullough Lansing was a pioneering American audio engineer and loudspeaker designer. He established two audio companies that bear his name, Altec Lansing and JBL, the latter taken from his initials, in October 1, 1946.
A Journey of Engineering Excellence
At JBL, audio technology is at the core of everything. For 70 years they have employed the best methodology and tools. Above all, as established at the very beginning by the founder, they develop everything from the ground up.
Never straying from this exacting formula, their journey has produced a prolific list of revolutionary advances in the professional audio, many patents, and awards.
It’s a journey that has positioned JBL as the world leader in professional audio. Not just as a brand, but as a company known for consistently blending creativity and science. This as manifestation of passion for sound and commitment to those who create it.
