When it comes to pre-owned event production equipment packaging is a priority we understand that AV equipment is expensive and that’s why we are ready to assess and prioritise this. At 10k it’s not just about supplying the right gear — we want to make everything from buying the gear, it’s about making sure it arrives safely, on time, and ready to use.
Our team always considers the what if? And by doing that we are able to work backwards from the arrival to when it departs. We always consider the possible implication of travel
Flight Cases and boxes for immediate Protection
We use sturdy flight cases to safeguard certain equipment during transport. These boxes will be wooden or metal depending on the protocols of the country we are shipping it too. These cases protect against knocks, drops, and stacking pressure, ensuring the gear arrives in the same condition it left our warehouse.
Weight and Height Restrictions
Not every piece of equipment can travel the same way. Airlines and couriers enforce strict protocols we need to consider before shipping them – this includes the size and weight. Our team carefully checks each shipment to make sure it complies — avoiding delays and extra costs.
Shredded cardboard/paper
We use local shredded cardboard to really compact our parcels in boxes, this adds an additional layer of protection. This reduces packaging costs and is another sustainable form of packaging.
Foam Packaging
For smaller or delicate gear, we use custom foam packages. This adds an extra layer of protection against vibration and impact, which is especially important when shipping lighting, sound, and video equipment.
Pallets: Wooden vs. Plastic
We use both wooden and plastic pallets, depending on the destination. Some countries don’t allow certain materials therefore we need to be vigilant of these rules when shipping worldwide.
Strapping
The straps we use for packaging are rated for breakage and how much it can take therefore we know to use the best quality ones for maximum performance. We use these to strap each package together especially if it’s multiple packages.
Wrapping for Final Protection
Every pallet and case is carefully wrapped in black plastic film to keep contents secure and protected from dust, moisture, and handling during transit.
Taping and branding
Each package is then wrapped in fragile labelled tape and our branded 10k used gear tape so you know it was safely packaged by our trusted team.
Monitoring Flights and Shipping
Once gear leaves the warehouse, our job isn’t finished. We track flights and shipping routes closely, keeping an eye on timelines to make sure everything arrives when and where it should.
